HEY BOO THANG - I am Taylor, and I'm so dang stoked that you're here.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I'm officially working to win your heart as your boudoir photographer. Consider this my personal profile - and I'm hoping you swipe right (says me, who has never been on Tinder).
An actual conversation whilst writing this.
Two years ago I welcomed my daughter into the world, and holy crap my body CHANGED. I struggled with hair loss, stretch marks, my entire body shape changing from carrying her and breastfeeding... it was something that I had been prepared for when I was trying to conceive, but that didn't make it any easier to reframe my thinking around it. It was a journey to look in the mirror and see myself again. Not only physically but also mentally and emotionally.
It's wild what an impact we as women experience in our identity with every new phase of life. Whether you are a wife, mother, homemaker, entrepreneur, 9-5, blue collar gal, healthcare or first responder... we tend to absorb our lifestyle into our identity and lose track of ourselves.
My goal is to make you say "I see myself in a new light" once this is all said and done. My goal is to create a financially attainable yet all-inclusive boudoir experience that allows you to take some time off and simply enjoy yourself. Treat yourself. Allow yourself to simply be in a judgement-free zone. Get dolled up and lean into your femininity. Remind yourself how f*cking incredible it is to be a woman.
I get it girl. It's hard to look in the mirror everyday and see everything you don't love about yourself. It's probably easier to ignore it. It's easier to say you don't have the time or that this is a silly way to try to regain some confidence. And I will tell you outright - I've had women leave my studio worrying that their session was a bust (proof below). But as much as I'd love to say I can hang with the good Lord in the miracle worker club... I can't claim such a title.
These results come from connection. You and me friend. Being comfortable with me, trusting me to help you feel your very best. This what I do. This is what I LIVE for. I want to be your personal hype girl. I want you to leave my friend. I want you to trauma dump and TMI and laugh your ass off while with me so that you can feel safe to be totally open and let me reframe how you see yourself.
This career has brought me in contact with some of the best people I've ever met. My clients have taught me so much, and I carry each with me. I hope you'll join that family.
If ya didn't come here from my main website, you may not know that I'm also a full time wedding photographer! I opened my business, Taylor Smith Photo & Video in 2018 and began the long journey to figure out what realms of photography spoke to me. Turns out, I LOVED couples. It was natural for me. I never felt shy or nervous or worried. It was second nature. Then I became passionate about helping my couples navigate their wedding experience - and now it's my full time gig.
But how did I end up here?
So the bridal boudoir trend popped off on TikTok and I started booking sessions like CRAZY out of nowhere. I had always dabbled in boudoir, but never pursued it as an all-out niche. But soon I started to feel how my couples made me feel. Like it was second nature. It was easy to connect with the women I was working with. It was incredible to see the results mean so much to them. It brought me joy. And that was enough. I decided that doing two totally different realms of photography under the same name might be confusing, so I separated my boudoir from my main business and, well, here we are.
So fun fact about me - I'm a BIG romantasy girlie.
Outside of photography, my only other real hobby is that I love to read. I love fantasy and romance because for me, if I'm reading or watching a show - I want to escape to another world. Not hangout in another version of my own.
So when I was struggling to come up with a name for my boudoir business, my business partner over at The Tayem Photo Co said "girl, you read 24/7, there's not a cool phrase or concept in a book you love?".
Honestly I should've known Emily would name my business. Her creative brain is astounding - and surely enough I was doing a reread of one of my favorite book series and there was the phrase "liessa" in both the primary and prequel series, and it meant something slightly different in each. But at the birth of it, the word was used to describe
And honestly? I couldn't think of anything better to describe the women that I've photographed. So Liessa stuck.
